Financial Peace University

A new year is a time for resolutions and change.  Once that calendar turns over, we all strive to find ways to better improve our lives.  The gyms get a little bit busier and our groceries get a little bit healthier.  My blog's subtitle is to "Get lean in more ways than one" and that includes our financial situation also!

I've been a Dave Ramsey advocate and user for over ten years.  I've taught the class as a coordinator three times and will be leading another class starting on January 7th.  FPU is not just for those struggling financially but their are ideas and solutions for even the wealthiest.  It's about knowing where every dollar is going and taking advantage of budgeting and planning.

The long term goal is summed up by Dave in this quote, "Live like no one else now so you can LIVE and GIVE like no else later."  Moving toward the goal of living a debt-free will change your life dramatically, along with your children and your whole family tree.  Take off the shackles and take control of your life.  Proverbs 22:7 states "The rich rules over the poor. and the borrower is the slave of the lender."  Are you a slave to debt?

Are you ready to make a change and reclaim your life?  Sign up for Financial Peace University and take reigns!  If you're in the Reed City/Big Rapids, MI area - click the link below to sign up for my class beginning January 7th at 3:00 pm at Trinity Lutheran Church of Reed City.  Cost is $100 for materials - and it's worth every penny!  Childcare is also provided.  Make 2018 the year of change for you!

Money Saving Idea

My friend Roger just posted this Youtube video with a great way to stash some money away!  My wife Susan and I did this about twelve years ago when we we're saving for a vacation.  It works great but does require some discipline - as well as buying things with cash.  Check out the video and post in the comments if you've done this before!
